About Me

My story

My name is Rebecca Di Bari, and I am ceramicist with a passion for creating unique objects that bring life to everyday spaces. Always fascinated by the creative process, I have explored various forms of art before finding in ceramics the ideal medium to express my vision.

My journey into the art of ceramics began with a desire to merge two great passions: creating with my hands, touching, and using my art, and my love for painting, decoration, and color harmony. It all started with a simple ceramics course in Turin in 2020, a gift that sparked a flame within me.

In 2021 I moved to Florence, where I had the fortune to train in various workshops , where I learned multiple techniques and ways of working with clay. These experiences allowed me to explore various styles, to find my technique on the wheel, to fell in love with the pinching technique, to learn how to make my own glazes and , step by step, find my unique way of expressing myself through ceramics.

At first, I began creating in my small studio, lovingly set up in the living room of my home. Over time, my passion grew, leading me to move into a bigger space outside Florence —an intimate and dedicated space where I can freely unleash my creativity.

In my studio, every stage of the process is done by hand, from modeling to decoration, up to firing.

Each of my creations is unique, characterized by the originality and imperfections typical of handcrafted work. I believe that these small irregularities give my pieces a special value, telling the story of the creative process and making each item one-of-a-kind. Ceramics represent for me a perfect fusion of aesthetics and functionality, where beauty also resides in imperfections.

Ceramiche dall’Orto

The name "Ceramiche dall'Orto" is inspired by the street of my first apartment in Florence, “Via dell’Orto”, where my journey in ceramics began. Just as vegetables grow step by step in a garden, ceramics undergo a meticulous process—from shaping the clay to the final firing. Each stage requires care and patience, mirroring the natural growth in an "orto," or garden. This name honors the place where my passion was born and the delicate craftsmanship behind every finished piece.

My work

My ceramics are crafted with high fired stoneware clay and  finished with food-safe glazes. Each piece is meticulously handmade using both wheel-throwing and pinching techniques, and decorated with glazes that I produce myself. These unique creations feature minimal forms adorned with natural colors, striking a balance between shape and color.

Explore my work and let yourself be inspired by the passion and originality I infuse into every piece.
